Mysore, native to the Mysore section of India, is one of my favorite
varieties. This variety is very resistent to all pests and diseases, is
very tolerant of soil conditions, has a very strong root system and produces
gorgeous heads of fruit. The heads of fruit can reach up to 50 pounds,
produces bananas of uniform size, and are of excellent quality. Often referred
to as a (lady finger) variety, due to the fact that the fruit averages
5 inches in length. Among the best qualities of the mysore is the exceptionally
long shelf life of the fruit after it ripens.
